Development of a Forgiveness Therapy Module Based on the Story of Joseph for PTSD Recovery in Christian Rehabilitation Services

Abstract
Post-traumatic stress disorder at the Villa Recovery Pelita Foundation, where existing approaches have not specifically addressed trauma. This study aimed to develop a forgiveness therapy module based on Yusuf's narrative that is feasible to use. The method used was level 1 research and development with a mixed-methods approach using a sequential explanatory design. Validation was conducted by ten multidisciplinary experts through questionnaires and in-depth interviews. The discussion covered four main subsections: the forgiveness process in Yusuf's narrative as a trauma recovery model; the integration of forgiveness therapy with Yusuf's narrative within a holistic intervention framework; expert validation of the module's feasibility, which resulted in a score of 81.647 percent in the very appropriate category; and module revision based on expert input focusing on strengthening trauma-informed safety aspects, enhancing the integration of psychology and spirituality, and improving facilitator guidelines. The findings indicate that the developed module is conceptually valid and feasible for implementation. In conclusion, this module is recommended for field testing to measure its effectiveness, as well as for further development in digital format and facilitator training.
